4 danger zones in modern entertainment

I enjoy good entertainment just as much as the next guy, but I truly believe that we must all guard the gates of our minds and hearts. Second Timothy 3:1-6 says we are to have nothing to do with wicked and ungodly people. This biblical principle also applies to our entertainment.
Here are 4 danger zones that we must steer clear of in modern entertainment.

1.  Sexual immorality.

ÞThe Word of God says that there should not even be a hint of sexual immorality in our lives.

ÞEphesians 5:3 “Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people. “

ÞHave the courage not to compromise even when everyone else will.

ÞYou don’t have to leave people wondering, they can know what kind of person you are.

2.  Disrespect for authority.

ÞHonoring and obeying our parents will bring us blessings.

ÞExodus 20:12 "Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God will give you.”

ÞPaul wrote that our police, military, and government leaders are ministers of God.

ÞRomans 13:

ÞRespect for Authority

Þ1Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. All governments have been placed in power by God. 2So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. 3For the authorities do not frighten people who are doing right, but they frighten those who do wrong. So do what they say, and you will get along well. 4The authorities are sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for you will be punished. The authorities are established by God for that very purpose, to punish those who do wrong. 5So you must obey the government for two reasons: to keep from being punished and to keep a clear conscience. 6Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid so they can keep on doing the work God intended them to do. 7Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and import duties, and give respect and honor to all to whom it is due.

3.  Mocking of God.

ÞDid you know that when you fail to react to others’ degrading of God and godly principles, you come into agreement to those acts?

ÞJesus said that if you were ashamed of Him and the Word, He would be ashamed of you.

ÞLuke 9:26 “If a person is ashamed of me and my message, I, the Son of Man, will be ashamed of that person when I return in my glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.”

4.  Rage.

ÞDon’t believe that you’re uncontrolled anger will bring a solution to your problem.

ÞIt won’t.

ÞIt will add to your already existing problems.

ÞProverbs 14:16 says, ‘A fool is hotheaded and reckless.’

ÞDon’t be a fool!
