This past weds night in Youthrock Pastor Mike delivered a message titled "No Weapon." He took his text from Isaiah 54:17 which states in the KJV "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." Pastor Mikes first point was No weapon formed against you shall prosper. He ran through a list from Jesus birth to his death and his resurrection. Such as King Herod's sword of all the children under the age of two was to be killed. He was in search of Jesus. When Christ was arrested - he could have acted differently and went crazy but he didn't. The Cat of 9 tails when he was being beaten, the ropes, carrying the cross, the crown of thorns, nails, spears and so on. But yet Jesus defeated all these things through his Resurrection. 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5 talks about we are humans but we don't wage war as humans do. We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds. Pastor Mike moved to Prosper. Prosper is it shall not prove strong enough to do any harm to the people of God, it shall miss it's mark, shall fall out of the hand or perhaps recoil in the face of him that uses it against you. When you have the right relationship with Him refuses to allow you to be destroyed by your own circumstances or by the devil. We can take a look at Job in Ch 1:1-22 about how he once had everything until the devil was given permission to take it all away. You can read it for yourself but through it all Job stood by God. Pastor Mike moved on to his 3rd point, Tongues that rise against you will be condemned. When weapons don't work the devil will move on to using words and begins to talk bad about the church, the Son of God, and God's children. The devil wants us to believe the lies he tells. But when it all comes down to it, NO WEAPON, ANY WEAPON, will prosper against God's people when we have a relationship with him. Does this mean bad things wont happen when we choose God, no. Things will still take place when we are with God as we looked at Job, he still continued to serve God and held on even when times are tuff. Jesus was betrayed, crucified and killed but he defeated it all when he rose from the grave alive. No weapon will prosper!

Tobymac welcoming everyone

December 2nd I received and early Christmas present which was a ticket to the Tobymac and Skillet Winter Wonder Slam Tour that hit Springfield, MO at the Shrine Mosque Center. We got there little bit before 5:30PM and stood in line in a good spot and waited outside for the doors to open. Finally little bit after 6PM they open the doors and we all file into the building. Thankfully we had Dance Floor tickets so we were right near the stage and run way that was set up to get good shots of pics and a close view. The show started with Tobymac coming out first greeting everyone and kicked off with one of his guys part of his Diverse City crew who has a solo project, Shon Lock! He did his rap deal, shared his testimony of how another Christian rap artist Grits shared the gospel with him personally and took a career path as a christian rapper working with Tobymac. Skillet performed next with their rock head banging style. They played a mixture of songs from their current album and last 2 older albums. Songs such as Hero, Monster, Awake and Alive, Comatose, Savior, and more. But that wasn't all for Lead singer John Cooper, he help kick off Tobymacs show with the hit song Tonight as he and Toby sang together. Tobymacs show was high energy and they just gave there all on stage. They sang a variety of songs from all his albums, even hit a few dc Talk old schools like In The Light and Jesus Freak. Toby shared his heart, his passion, his love for God. This was my very first time seeing Toby in concert and I wasn't disappointed. I'd say probably one of the best concerts you will ever see with Skillet and Tobymac together. I've officially have seen Skillet 5 times now since 2003's Cave Fest. And they just get better and better every time I see them live.
